Looks a little like south central British Columbia where I spent last weekend. Wow, you’re really up high there, look at that distant horizon…so far

This was Memorial Day and in California the only place to go it up, to higher elevations. lol Mono Lake is actually a salt water lake. No swimming there though.

Cool, salt water from the ocean that high up? What a cruel joke by mother nature, looks pretty inviting though.

Not from the ocean,
“formed at least 760,000 years ago as a terminal lake in a basin that has no outlet to the ocean. The lack of an outlet causes high levels of salts to accumulate in the lake. These salts also make the lake water alkaline.”

Somehow this doesn’t feel solitary at all…

Ah but I am solitary as I take in the view! Gotta love that there is not a soul around for miles and miles. I certainly felt like I was solitary. lol

Yes, I can see that. I also see the grandeur you’ve captured in this shot. Gazing upon such breathtakingly beautiful creation I can only feel connection! Your photo conveys much more than solitude…

Hey Nancy, Has the forest fire situation calmed down? I’ve thinking about you guys over on the Left Coast… 🙂 Kenny T

It is not too bad but it is still fire season. We have had about three start up this last weekend. Small ones they were able to get under control without too much damage. As long as those darn Santa Ana winds stay away we will make it.

This is one of the best images illustrating the concept of solitary I’ve seen this week. Thanks for sharing it with us.
