My Great Grandma, Ella Belle

Responses

  1. What a beautiful photo. Any idea when this was taken and how old she was?

    • None, but I do know Ella Belle (love her name) was born in 1863, My guess is that she was pre-teen so I would also guess it had to be sometime in the 1870’s???

  2. What a glorious picture and a lovely name!

  3. What a lovely photo! Thanks for sharing!

    • Thank you! I love it! I am told that this part of the family was wealthy, hence the fancy pictures. Lucky for me! lol

      • It’s great for the theme – it leaves a lot to the imagination! 🙂

  4. Ella Belle! What an elegant name! It’s a great photo!

  5. Families who have these kinds of old photographs are truly blessed.

  6. I love all the old photos that you share, each one is so beautiful and momentarily transports my soul back in time as i look at them. This one is particularly beautiful! How special you have all these mementos from your family.

    • I feel blessed that I have them and can share them.

  7. How fantastic to have a picture of your great grandmother. Not sure many people can say that. Do you know how old she was in this pic?

    • She was born in 1863 and I suspect her to be preteen, so this had to have been taken in the 1870’s.
