  1. Next time we pass by we’ll salute your father.

    • Thanks! It really means a lot. Maybe you can take a picture and send it to me?

  2. Isn’t it an indescribable feeling to find a landmark today that your father was at 70 years ago??!! This is wonderful!

  3. You know it isn’t in the states….someone would be offended by it and it would of been torn down. They keep things in Europe and that is the best part. History!!

    • So true QM Sis! I was glad that I was able to find it. But it was thanks to Marvin’s note on his pictures that made it possible. Thank you! My dad did not write where it was. This is a great example of Marvin and Lefty working together long after they have gone.

  4. Great photos Nancy. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

    • I LOVE the internet in that you can locate the same statue my father saw when he was overseas 70 years later AND you can find pictures of that same statue AND find information of who it was and why it was made. I sure wish Dad was here to learn such information.

  5. Marshal Ney was supposed to be very brave and gallant – which are probably rather rare qualities in commanders nowadays.
