Pop World War I

Pop World War I

My father was not the only military person in our family, this is my mom’s father. Pop Served in World War I. Today I reflect back on Pop am thankful for his service to our country.

  1. Wow… What a cool portrait to have of your grandfather! I hope he was not a casualty, notsofancynancy.

    • No he came home. He and his five buddies all joined the same day and thankfully they all came home.

  2. He’s sure a handsome lad, Nancy! God bless you for sharing him with us.

  3. I do love the real old photos. How fortunate you are to have such a nice portrait of him. Thank you for all your visits to our blog. Hugs

  4. How amazing to have that photograph. Thanks for sharing.

  5. A handsome young man.

  6. Love old photos. I have some that were taken in the 30s and 40s with a box camera. Mine of the little boy and the leopard is one of those. Thank you so much for liking “Catching a Big Story Wave” on Paper, Mud and Me. Looking forward to your next post.

    • Thank you! I wondered about your profile picture. Taken with a box camera? Awesome! Thanks for the return visit!

  7. Wow, so young for such an immense responsibility. How nice to have a photo of your grandpa so young, with all that life (and you) in the future.

    • Yes I feel blessed I got a chance to work with our family photos and had time to copy as many as I did! Yea me!

  8. Nice picture – I often wonder about the faces in the old photographs. What their lives were like, who were they, etc…
