  1. Very unusual

  2. just read about a man in the paper today who changed his last name to “nobody” – he should move to Nothing and become nobody from Nothing

  3. It may be one of the most photographed signs in the world!

  4. There’s an interesting Wikipedia article about this place.

    • It has quite an interesting backstory, the little town of nothing! It is all closed up now.

“The locals told travelers it “got named by a bunch of drunks.”[2]

The settlement was established in 1977, located 100 miles northwest of Phoenix Arizona,[3] and roughly 20 miles south of Wikieup, the “rattlesnake capital of Arizona.”[4] It is west of Bagdad at milepost 148½ on U.S. Route 93 (the Joshua Forest Scenic Parkway) between Wickenburg and Kingman, on the route from Las Vegas to Phoenix.[5]

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) installed one of four motorist callboxes on U.S. 93 at Nothing.[6]

      The town sign read:[7][8]

“ Town of Nothing Arizona. Founded 1977. Elevation 3269ft.

The staunch citizens of Nothing are full of Hope, Faith, and Believe in the work ethic. Thru-the-years-these dedicated people had faith in Nothing, hoped for Nothing, worked at Nothing, for Nothing.”

  5. Some people will stop at nothing.
