Weekly Photo Challenge: Fresh

Fresh Humming bird Food

Fresh Hummingbird Food

It is very unusual to see this many hummers on the feeders all at once. The guy on the left, I call him Spike is the king of the feeders and chases everyone off. Imagine my surprise when we had three on the feeders at once. AND I just happen to be sitting two feet away with my camera!

  1. I have four big feeders that I have to refill every other day, sometimes a few of them twice in one day! Can you believe that? Sometimes there are two dozen of them at a single feeder, it’s like a busy airport. I have to buy sugar in bulk during the summer…but we love our little visitors. I have never seen half-feeders like yours, very cool!

    • We have seven feeders. . .all window feeders. From my chair here in my sunroom I can see five of them. We have to fill them every other day also and buy sugar in bulk. WE also love them and are right in the migration route of many others. I counted 15 at one time last year. It was amazing and hope we get that many this year! What state are you in?

      • That’s great. I live in NC.

      • Nice!

  2. So cool. I laugh that you named one Spike 😀

    • Most of them are named Spike since it is hard to tell them apart! hahaha

      • LOL 😀 I would imagine.

  3. Could have posted this one in Curves too!!

  4. Isn’t it great that you caught this moment! Very special!

  5. My husband has stood stock still and held the feeder in his hand, while the little greedy guys come and guzzle.

    • I could never be still enough to do that! Awesome!

  6. What an opportunity! Good photos
