Weekly Photo Challenge: Different POV

Walter Huntsucker and Truman "Ben" Howard change a tire. St. Jean France WWII 1944

Walter Huntsucker and Truman “Ben” Howard change a tire. St. Jean France WWII 1944

I chose this picture because Mustang Koji sent me the following video showing how hard it was to change the tires for this truck. As you will be able to tell it is a lot of work in the present day. How much harder was it for these soldiers seventy years ago in the middle of a war?  Take a minute to imagine what changing a tire was like from the POV of a WWII soldier.

Tune in on Thursday for the next chapter in m.y father’s WWII story.

  1. Boy, that didn’t take long…. not the tire changing, of course! It is wretched work, believe me.

    • Ahahaha When you pointed out how hard it was to change the darn things I thought why not? It certainly is a different pov… no?

  2. What they didn’t show is that if you didn’t get the that steel ring seated right it would come off when you re-inflated the tire and it could take off an arm or worse.
